Recycling Your Electronics Just Got Easier

We all probably have an extra printer, laptop, digital camera, or at least a cell phone or two that we have just let dust collect in storage. It’s annoying to hold garage sales, and who knows what you can get out of it? It’s even worse to throw them out, adding more trash to the world. Enter a new wave of websites that buy your old electronics.
My Bone Yard allows you to recycle your electronic devices in a responsible and eco-friendly way:
They take your items and make sure all your personal content is obliterated before they recycle them. You have to register your product one at a time online, in which they email you a pre-paid mailing label to ship your items out. Currently, you can only register one item at a time, which means you ship everything separately. You can determine the worth of your product through the main page and they send you Visa Reward cards that you can redeem like cash. My Bone Yard is currently accepting laptops, cell phones, PC systems and flat panel monitors. They will soon accept mp3 players, digital cameras and other electronics.
Gazelle is another web site that gives you cash for your products. They purchase more items, such as GPS devices, gaming consoles, camcorders and even portable hard drives. The home page starts off with you finding your product and indicating the condition and accessories that come with the product, such as adaptors, rechargeable batteries or installation CDs. Gazelle then tells you what it is worth. It’s pretty great, but sometimes discouraging as I found out one of my digital cameras was only worth $9. The company does provide all shipping fees as well.
VenJuvo is the third website I will mention that is similar to Gazette. They will pay cash for your old gadgets, and you can find your item and determine its condition and extra accessories. An offer is given to you, and you accept or decline. You then ship it to them. It’s free recycling, simple, fast, and secure. They will pay you using Paypal or check, which takes longer than the former. They even take broken electronics and either repair and resell, or help recycle as needed.
Definitely investigate different options of selling or recycling your items. Local electronic and office supply stores will also take your items and help you recycle. Go clean out your home and get rid of the things you no longer need. Simple living frees you to simply live.
