PINK is More Than Just Something to Wear

Recently I received a free copy of Pink Magazine from a conference I attended and I have to say I really liked it - so much so that I’ve signed up for a year’s subscription already. There are a lot of other magazines that I love browsing through, either on a wooden bench at Barnes and Noble or standing in the grocery line, but generally, few magazines make it to my credit card.

Pink offers something different. It’s a magazine for professional women. In addition to its appeal to my more feminine senses, it celebrates the type of women I admire in the professional world - women who prove that it is possible to be successful and female.

The magazine covers topics from balancing the schedule of a working mom to business resources and tips for women starting their own ventures. One of my favorite articles in the recent April issue was Christine Van Dusen’s “Clothes the Deal.” The article stressed that dressing properly for your professional life not only commands the respect of your coworkers but also enables you to act more confident and empowered. It makes sense. After all, first impressions are very important in the business world, and what you wear helps elucidate who you are!
