For those of us who can’t afford a stay in the Bellagio Villas while vacationing in Las Vegas, a stay in one of Bellagio’s many “normal” rooms, I supposed, is a proper second. The rooms are actually very stately and classy and have a features that understandably add to Bellagio’s popularity and acclaim. Here are a few of my favorites from my stay and why I’d love to go back.

Marble is marvelous. The shower and restroom floors and the hallway area leading into the restroom are all lined with marble flooring. I love walking barefoot on marble, but besides that, the marble interior gives the room a very pristine ambience.

Beautiful beds mean beauty rest.
I love sleeping in a king size bed, especially if it’s decorated with high ceiling lights and decorous slender curtains. The bed itself is incredibly comfortable and perfect for snoozing-in if you’re partied out from the night before.

Fancy-spancy curtains. The curtains are a great feature because they can be opened and shut automatically. So for the lazy, opening the curtains is an extremely easy task in the morning — just press a button next to the bed to see the sunlight!

Armoire to amore. The dark wooden wardrobe is tastefully connected with the television and opens with with small lights to help you find the proper shirt. It’s sized to fit your weekend needs, and stands stately but unobstructingly in the room.

Grand pools and conservatory. The Bellagio swimming pools are incredibly large, great for a dip or even swimming laps if you’re motivated. For the kodak shots, Bellagio’s popular conservatory is a must-go. The conservatory exhibit changes frequently, but you’ll always be treated to a creative display arranged from fresh flowers and fruit. It’s a well-liked spot even for vacationers not staying at the Bellagio, so be sure to get the most of it if you are staying there!

bellagiovilla5 Haute Hotels: Celebrity Life at the Bellagio Villas

Ever wondered what it was like to travel like a celebrity? Well, you’re in for a treat. Here’s an inside look at the lavish and grandiose Las Vegas Bellagio Villas. No, it’s not just another Bellagio hotel room (although one could hardly say that any room at the Bellagio is “just another room”). The Villas are Bellagio’s exclusive, high-end hotel destinations for those who can comfortably drop $6,000 a night for a fully-furnished, mansion-away-from-mansion experience. Although your resident Travel Snob wasn’t able to spend 6-G’s myself, I did get a peek of this luxurious destination to share with you!

Aside from the fine art and fresh flowers arrangements that decorated the tables and walls of the 6,000 square-feet villa that I visited, there were accommodations I could only dream of, that is, unless unbeknownst to me barber chairs, dry saunas and personal massage tables have become everyday home necessities.

If you like to groove to music while bartending at a full size (and fully stocked) bar, you’re in luck. The villa has a living room entertainment set that can be tuned to whatever you want as as you shake up your cocktails. Let there be no mistake that this is a separate sound system from the one outside entertaining the private patio — where you can choose to lounge in lawn chairs, swim in the private pool or soak in the jacuzzi. To top it off, you also the option of pressing a button to spray mist down from the patio awning to keep off the desert heat. Now isn’t that awesome?

For the television junkie in you, television sets grace almost every room and restroom. My favorites are the large, personal televisions that can rise and fall into hidden chests in front of some of the beds. The beds themselves are all decorated with fancy sheets and dressy covers….and so comfortable that your short naps can easily turn into longer Z-z-z-z-z’s.

If you’re looking for a nice meal, there’s a dining room with a majestic marble table just down the hall from an equally impressive kitchen — the type of kitchen with equipment most people probably won’t even know how to use! With that said, I’m sure a personal chef can be provided upon request. And if you’re too impatient to wait for dinner, you can snack on the fresh fruit and chocolate truffles they have lying around.

To squeal and exclaim over, however, are the 4 main restrooms that are the size of most people’s living rooms. Not only are there vanity stations and multiple sinks in addition to polished marble floors and large bathtubs — each restroom also has columns and columns of high-ceiling, glass panel closets that more than rivals Carrie’s dream closet in The Sex and the City movie. As if that wasn’t enough, there are full size bottles of Michael Kors perfume if you’ve forgotten your own. There’s no punishment for being forgetful here!

But enough said. Relish the photos as I’m sure they’ll do more justice than my gleeful prose and tell me what you think!

Haute Hotels: Whatever, Whenever in San Diego

san diego hotel

The W Hotel in San Diego is one of my favorites. If you’re looking for a place that’s posh, upbeat, and smack in the middle of downtown San Diego, then this is a great choice. You can find a W Hotel in practically every major metropolis (in fact there are over 30 W properties worldwide), and they are better known as the trendy franchise of the Starwood Hotels family for all you SPG fans. Here are a few great features I love about the San Diego W Hotel — useful information to help you plan your weekend getaway to this beautiful city!

Rooftop Beach (really!).
Located on the second floor rooftop of the hotel, this San Diego “beach” is one of my favorite spots to go to when I’m staying at this W. There’s actual sand to sink your toes into and chairs and couches overlooking the San Diego skyline — perfect for enjoying both your sun and afternoon ice tea. In the evenings, the fire pits are lit and upbeat music put into effect, making this a great place to sit around with friends or colleagues. Did I mention there’s also a full bar?

Mo Mo Friendly.

Mo Mo, if you don’t already know, is one of the many pets belonging to writers at The Conscious Snob. Mo Mo, in fact, has also paid a visit to the San Diego W. Not only did he steal a snack from the jar of doggie treats at the entrance of the hotel, but he’s also ordered room service from the special doggy menu. Biscuits a la mode, anyone? If you want your pooch to enjoy the getaway as much as you, here’s your place.

Spa products.
Taking a bath at the hotel is blissful…literally. All of the complimentary bath products at the W are especially made for W hotels by Bliss. It’s nice to be able to use lemon-sage soap and Bliss’ foaming face wash as opposed to generic bath products. Call me a snob, but for the rates charged by these hotels, having nice soap is a must in my book.

modern design w hotel
Modern Designs.
W Hotels are well-known for their hip interior designs and chic ambiance. The guests here always seems more stylish and sophisticated and the rooms are equally as trendy and modern. In each room, there’s always a large flat screen television and an ipod dock for you to listen to your own music or charge your ipod. Even the hallways and elevators are accented with intricate decorations and mood lighting — which makes you feel like you’re heading to an up-scale club as opposed to just your hotel room.

Great Location.
Right off of B street and Slate Street, the hotel is walking distance to the downtown shopping areas and is just a short drive to Old Town, the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park. Other fun attractions in the general area are Sea World, La Jolla beach, and Legoland. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway for two or a vacation break for the entire family.
