Sheraton Hotel Room Niagra Falls

I love visiting the Niagara Falls. Watching the giant falls cascading down and spraying giant swirls of mist into the surrounding air always gives me a feeling of tranquility and wonderment. When I last visited the Niagara Falls, I stayed on the (recommended) Canadian side at the Sheraton On The Falls hotel. Here are four great reasons why I’d stay there again (and why you should check it out as well):


Amazing View. Ask for a room facing the falls and you’ll get an astounding view of both the American Falls and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. You’ll also get a bird’s eye view of the Skylon Tower and the giant Niagara SkyWheel on Clifton Hills. If you’re visiting in the summer, this is also a great location to watch the evening fireworks without having to deal with the crowd.

Jazzy Location. Besides being minutes away from the Niagara Falls, the hotel is located next to the largest indoor water park in North America, the Hardrock Cafe, and a wide array of wax museums, arcades and restaurants along Clifton Hill. For the poker and roulette fans, there’s a large casino adjacent to the hotel building. For the wine connoisseurs, there’s a large duty-free shop across the street with some of Canada’s best ice wine. As for the photographer, kodak moments are easy pickings along side the Niagara Falls’ many trails.

Jacuzzi bath. There’s a television and a jacuzzi bathtub in the junior suites of the hotel. Need I say more? After a long stroll around the falls there’s nothing more relaxing than catching a bit of the tube in a warm, bubbling bath. BYOBS (bring your own bath salts) and enjoy!

Electric fireplace. With just a flick of a switch you can turn on the electric fireplace to your junior suite. You can’t roast marshmallows in it, but it’s sure nice to fall asleep to the decorated logs and hazy, orange flames. The decor of the room overall is very classic and gives off a warm, homey feeling. They still don’t have LCD tv’s, but the fireplace makes up for it.

Proper bath products. Taking a bath or a shower at this Sheraton is another blissful experience (you’ll understand why if you’ve read my review of the W hotel in San Diego). No nameless bathing products here. Instead, you’ll find another line of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel prepared by Bliss expressly for Sheraton hotels. You’ll give get a puff to properly get your sponge on.

Fabulous Getaways: Soaking in the Niagara Falls

Niagra Falls

I love leaning against the rails surrounding the Niagara Falls and slowly taking in its majesty and its great, misty expanse. Although you can easily cross the bridge to view the falls from either the American or the Canadian side, the best view of the two falls is undoubtedly Canadian.

From the Canadian side you’ll see the American Falls as they crash down onto the rocks below to create a picturesque backdrop for your Kodak moment. Victoria Park and horse-drawn carriages are directly behind you as well as the ticket booth to purchase your boat ride on the Maid of the Mist to get a close up of the falls.

Niagra Falls

A nice stroll southwards will bring you to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls - a popular favorite. With no rocks breaking the fall of the water, the falls cascade into the river to create a cooling mist around surrounding pathways. The view here is spectacular. It’s definitely possible to spend hours just watching these falls and listening to the soothing sounds of falling water.

If you haven’t seen the falls yet, they’re definitely worth a visit. Take a weekend trip there if you happen to be in the Northeastern part of the States or fly there for a week and consider visiting Toronto and other surrounding areas.
