We have written about Tammy Fender before, and since then, we discovered another product under the developer’s line that is truly remarkable.  If your facial skin is thin and sensitive to scratches or blemishes, you may want to give Tammy Fender’s Capillary Strengthening Blend a try.  It really helps repair and rejuvenate delicate skin so that it is stronger, healthier and more vibrant.  It has Chamomile, Neroli, Rose and Carrot Seed extracts that improve the circulation of your capillaries to your skin, which helps healthy new skin cells to generate.

Just apply a few drops to your skin after cleansing.  I like to add moisturizer afterwards as well, but you can just apply this blend alone.  I add moisturizer because the winter months are coming and that means really dry, chapped skin.  So to prevent that, I dab on La Mer, another old favorite of mine.

Give Tammy Fender and her line a try.

Natalie Portman teamed with Te Casan last year to make eco-friendly shoes, and since then, other designers have followed suit.

Melissa Shoes are an eco-friendly Brazilian shoe line made of patented Melflex plastic.  The material is hypoallergenic and keeps your feet smelling fresh.  I own their Ultra girl flats in red velvet with a very light sprinkling of glitter with a mini peeptoe.  Super girly, super comfortable, and super cute.

OlsenHaus is another vegan brand of shoes that are more funky, with original designs such as these Italian suede boots with paint splatter.  I love their fair trade principles as well as their embellishments and quirky designs.  They have heels, wedges and flats, and they will be truly conversation starters wherever you go.

PURE shoe line stands for Promoting Use of Renewable Energy, and are made of environmentally-friendly rubber soles, natural dyes, and water-based glue.

Neuaura is a shoe line focused all about eco-friendly methods to produce shoes, from efficient packing of shoeboxes, to the use of cruelty-free products that do not include any leather, fur, silk, wool, shell or pearls.

Eco-friendly can now mean fashion forward.

Make Your Bathroom the Green Room

Make Your Bathroom the Green RoomOur bathrooms are our sanctuary. We strip down to our bare naked selves and every day, or so I hope, we cleanse ourselves of the day and become refreshed and renewed. We come here to beautify, to unwind, to pamper and to rejuvenate. We use so many products for our hair, face and bodies to make us beautiful, but are we choosing our products wisely? Can the plastic jar be leaving a carbon footprint that you never really acknowledged? Here are some ideas on making your bathroom just as environmentally friendly as you are.

Use bar soap. A bar soap contains less preservatives than liquid soap, so the ingredients in the solid are focused to wash away all the germs and bacteria, while the liquid soap contains more harmful ingredients that get washed away into the ocean each time you cleanse your hands. It requires a substantially less amount of packaging also. From body bars to shampoo bars, you can be clean and environmentally friendly.

Glass instead of plastic.
It’s harder to find your favorite products in glass, but they are definitely better for the environment, compared to all the plastic bags and containers that end up in landfills and choking our wildlife. If you can find them in glass containers, then get those. Creme de La Mer is sold in glass containers and is one of our favorite moisturizers for the face. If you do use plastic, clean it out when you are done and recycle it.

Stop buying bulk.
Try purchasing smaller items that you can use often and finish up entirely instead of buying a lot of products you only use a few times and just sit as additional waste. Eventually these products expire, and you will have to toss out containers that are still half-full. Call that a waste of your time and more waste on our planet.

How do you make your bathroom more green?

green4 Go Green at Home, Even on a BudgetYou don’t have to buy a Prius to be eco-friendly. In fact, there are a lot of other little things you can do around your home that can reduce your carbon footprint in the world. Here are some great ways to help the planet while still sticking to a good budget.

Use Reusable Bottles.

Commercial water bottles are so over-rated. 38 billion plastic bottles end up in the trash each year as opposed to the recycling bin. Instead, consider purchasing sturdy, reusable plastic or metal bottles and invest in a water filter. Brita has a
