Summer is here, so get ready to hit the beaches, fly to Miami, go to Hawaii, and hop on that cruise! Wherever you may be this summer, here are the necessities to have on your summer getaway.
Sunscreen This is super important, as the sun is most strong during this season. To prevent burns and possible cancer, slather on sunscreen at least 15 minutes before you go outside. Reapply after swimming, a lot of sweating or after a few hours. I really like Clinique’s Body SPF 25 Sun Block because it’s super lightweight and does not feel oily on the skin.
Flip Flops Easy to put on and easy to kick off, how can you not love them? They come in a variety of styles, heights and are extremely comfortable if you find the right pair. Light and portable, you can wear the on the beach or sightseeing around town. Fashion Bug has these great Embellished flip flops that are very casual but still stylish.
Cool Wrap The evenings do get cooler, so stay warm but not smothered by packing a light and thin scarf or wrap in your bag, like this Bianca scarf from Delia’s. Just drape it over yourself when the breeze comes in and continue to look fabulous.
Sunglasses Protect your eyes and look chic with the perfect pair of shades. Find a pair that suits you. I prefer the black plastic rimmed shades because they are comfortable and large so it covers my eyes even better. You can find a great pair for less at Overstock.com
A Great Read Summer is about relaxation and lounging. Spend a day lying under the shade and read a great book you have been trying to get to. Soak in the peacefulness, the cool breeze when it comes, and the tranquility of a season all about taking time to yourself.
